Meeting Profiles: AA Big Book Study Monday 2 pm Online

The weekly Monday 2 pm Online Meeting of Chicago CMA is a safe and supportive space for individuals in and out of the Chicago area to come together and work on their recovery journey through the guidance of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. The meeting focus is a Big Book study, where we take turns reading from the text for 25 to 30 minutes and then share our thoughts about the reading or anything else that the spirit moves us to discuss.

At the core of Crystal Meth Anonymous (CMA) is the belief in the power of shared experiences and collective wisdom to help individuals break free from the grips of addiction and find a path to recovery. The AA Big Book serves as a cornerstone of our program, offering valuable insights, guidance, and inspiration for those seeking a new way of life free from the chains of substance abuse.

As we gather virtually for this meeting, we come together with open hearts and open minds, ready to engage in honest self-reflection, deep discussion, and mutual support. Each participant is encouraged to actively participate by reading a few paragraphs aloud from the AA Big Book - shared on screen - then passing it one to the next reader for the first half of the meeting, followed by shares on the book section just read, or check-ins and general sharing.

Reading and discussing the AA Big Book helps fellows deepen our understanding of the principles of recovery, gain new insights into our own struggles and triumphs, and find inspiration to continue moving forward on the path to healing and wholeness.

Whether you are new to recovery or have been on this journey for some time, reading and discussing the AA Big Book, the origin of all 12 Step recovery programs, is very beneficial.

This Meeting Profiles series highlights the nearly two dozen CMA Chicago meetings recognized by Intergroup, the organization which supports Crystal Meth Anonymous meetings throughout Illinois.
